Our Story

Our story begins in January 2008 when we were married for time and all eternity after a year of dating.  We both knew from the beginning that we wanted to have a family.  Life was amazing and we couldn't imagine that it could possibly get any better- but we were wrong.

In September of 2009, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into our family. We were amazed (and still are) that we could possibly love and cherish someone as much as we do our Charly.  We dedicated our life to loving her, helping her and bringing comfort into her life and we have enjoyed every minute of it. We soon knew that we wanted more children to share this love with.

After having Charly with no complications, we never dreamed that we would have problems expanding our family.  Our next attempt to grow ended in miscarriage, along with the next, and the next.  At that time, the doctors referred us to a specialist and many tests were ran to determine the cause of the problem.  The doctors came up empty-handed and we were told that there was obviously an issue, but they couldn't seem to find what was causing it.

At that time, we stepped back and took some time to look at our options. There were many things in our life that seemed to point us in the direction of adoption, but we felt that there are so many couples that go to extreme measures to get pregnant and we hadn't yet tried anything.  We were going to give it one more try, and then pursue adoption.

After some more visits, the specialist put Tori on an artificial hormone treatment to see if they could prevent the loss of pregnancy.  But for the first time in our lives, we were having real difficulty in getting pregnant.  We then found out that we had some infertility problems in both the female and the male department.  After about 6 months of fertility treatments, along with the hormones, we were finally able to conceive.  Sadly, we lost that pregnancy also.

At this point, we knew that adoption was the right path for us. We have never felt so much peace.  Adoption has been a huge part of our lives (Tori is a Birth Mom) and we couldn't be more excited to grow our family through this amazing process.
